Platt TSA Accepted Lock (LOC056)
Operating Instructions
This Combination Lock is Factory Set at 0-0-0.
Setting your own personal combination:1. Open the case. Looking at the backside of the lock inside the case, you will see a small change lever. Move this change lever to the middle of the lock and position it so it hooks behind the change notch. Be sure the lever is securely in place.
2. On the front of the lock, set your personal combination code by moving the 3 dials to the numbers you would like to use as your personal combination.
3. Release the change lever from its position in the change notch. It will return to its original position. Your new personal combination has been set for the lock. The lock is now in the open position.
4. To lock case, close the case, and rotate one or more of the dials. The case is now locked. To open the case, rotate the dials to the new combination you have just set.
Resetting the Green-Red Security Window:1. If you check your case at an airport in the U.S. or the U.K., the Transportation Security Agency officials may open your case to examine the contents. The lock protecting your case is recognized and accepted by the TSA. They have an override device which bypasses the combination and allows them to open the case. If they do, the Security Window on the front of the case will change from green to red. They will also place a “Notification of Baggage Inspection” inside of the case.
2. If the Security Window is red when you collect your case, you should immediately open the case to determine if something is missing to allow you to file an appropriate claim.
3. To reset the Green-Red Security Window, simply move the change lever to the Change Notch position, and immediately return it to the original position.
Do not rotate the dials during this process.
4. The Security Window immediately changes from Red to Green.
